What: Migrating an artist’s website from Wix to Shopify and upgrading the design.

Goals:

  • Clean, modern design that lets the artwork shine.

  • Update the UX to encourage more sales.

  • Add basic SEO for products.

  • Put more focus on the most profitable items—original artworks (to be added later) and B2B pattern designs.

We chose to work with a pre-built theme to cut down on costs.


Since Jennifer’s business is so visual in nature, we chose a theme that heavily emphasizes photos.

This theme also contains a lot of pre-built features to boost sales.

The new homepage encourages sales with featured products and collections.

A new slideshow on the homepage highlights the different ways to shop, including higher-ticket original artworks and B2B pattern designs.

Sales-forward features were also added to the product pages.


SEO Results

The previous site essentially wasn’t getting search traffic at all.

Since launching the new site - with only basic optimizations - traffic has picked up quite a bit.
